Christ followers receive many blessings as a result of the work of our Lord: salvation, fellowship, purpose, love, etc. We are people of grace who have received an overflow of goodness from our great God. But there are other promises that are not so pleasant . . . such as opposition. What encouragement do we receive for that discouraging fact? Our text today will remind us of a sobering reality, and challenge us to stay the course even in the midst of rejection. John 15:18–27
