Leaders worth following usually promise a better life for their people–more justice, less oppression, and peace in life. Who wouldn’t want that? The anticipation of such a leader should cause us to make the proper preparations. But sometimes it doesn’t. In Matthew 3:1–12, John the Baptist announces the coming of the anticipated King of deliverance. This morning we’ll find out who prepares properly and why, who’s doesn’t, and the challenge for us as we anticipate the King of deliverance in the 21st century.
