We can probably all think of something recent that we’ve really looked forward to–when our hearts have been filled with anticipation for what we know is coming. It’s a great feeling! And yet such anticipation is only temporary. What if we could have that feeling all the time? This morning’s text reminds us that as God’s people, indeed we do have such constant cause for joyful longing, as we await God’s coming kingdom and the rule of King Jesus. 2 Samuel 5:6—25
