The apostle Paul has been instructing Timothy to deal with some problems–and some problem people–in the church at Ephesus. With apostolic authority, it would be easy for young Timothy to think he can come in with a big stick and sort it all out. But Paul exhorts Timothy to tread carefully. Through a general exhortation and a specific situation we learn what relationships inside the church should look like. 1 Timothy 5:1-16
