Over the past few weeks we’ve seen how living as followers of Jesus leads us to live counter-cultural lives marked by humility, service, and righteousness. What does it look like to live this way? Often we fall into the trap of promoting ourselves under the guise of righteous living. This week in Matthew 6:1-21 we will see that the “if you’ve got it, flaunt it” lifestyle so dominant in our context is the polar opposite of what King Jesus desires from His followers.
