Life is hard and unpredictable. Many people experience the devastating loss of a spouse, child, or parents to death. The grief and sorrow do not end with the funeral but continue on for the following weeks, months, and years ahead. We, as a church and ministry, would like to walk alongside those who are experiencing deep, ongoing pain. It may not be a death but may be an ongoing sickness, repeated hospitalizations, a recent divorce, separation, loss of a job, depression, or caring for a spouse or family member that is losing their quality of life. There is currently a group of women that meet together for the physical, emotional, and spiritual assistance needed for navigating these difficult paths. This group is called, “34:18” and is based upon Psalm 34:18:
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted”
The care ministry is modeled on the instructions given by the apostle Paul, in Romans chapter 12,
“Weep with those who weep.”
This ministry is led by Annette Baker for the members of Centerpoint.
